Adult Education not only works with students to help them earn their high school diploma or GED, but also assists them in identifying satisfying career fields that match their personality, work-style, and abilities, all while taking into consideration the personal responsibilities of each student. Adult Education Services partners with Gadsden State's Skills Training Division, along with the academic and technical programs within Gadsden State Community College to provide students with multiple career pathways. Students may enroll in a career pathway while working on their high school credential or after they attain it.
Skills Training Division provides short-term non-college credit, competency-based training programs. All training programs within this Division are measured by contact hours rather than semester hours. Students may register for classes at any time throughout the year and may continue until the appropriate skills have been attained. Students who complete training programs within this division will be awarded a certificate of completion documenting the area of training.
Gadsden State Community College provides college credit-bearing degrees and certificates to students that complete their programs of study. Courses at Gadsden State are based on semester hours instead of contact hours. The college has specific registration dates offered only a few times throughout the year for students to register and begin their selected career pathway. Registration dates can be found on the college calendar.
