Gadsden State Community College will host a Voter Registration Drive from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 6 in the lobby of the One Stop Center on the East Broad Street Campus. It is open to the public.
Those needing to update their address on their voter registration can do so during the drive as well.
To register, voters must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and a resident of Alabama. Voters may not have been declared “mentally incompetent” by a court or convicted of a disqualifying felony (or have rights restored). Voter registration is closed for the 14 days before an election.
A runoff election between Sen. Luther Strange and Roy Moore is slated for Sept. 26. Voters are reminded that they must have photo identification in order to vote. Acceptable IDs include:
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid non-driver ID
- Valid state-issued ID (Alabama or any other state)
- Valid federal-issued ID
- Valid U.S. passport
- Valid employee ID from the federal government, state of Alabama, county government, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state
- Valid student or employee ID from a college or university in Alabama
- Valid military ID
- Valid tribal ID
