GSCC tech students sponsor coat drive
Community supporters, faculty, staff and students of Gadsden State Community College are encouraged to support area shelters and mission centers by donating new or mildly-used coats, jackets and hoodies for children and adults. The annual drive, sponsored by the Electrical Technology Department, has collected over 3,500 coats and jackets to date to help those in need in the community. This year’s drive will continue through Jan. 15.
Items may be dropped off at the East Broad Campus’ Electrical Technology Dept. building with Deb Reynolds, Bevill Center Office #149 with Angela Ross or Barnes & Noble bookstores on the Ayers and East Broad campuses. For more information, contact email@example.com or call 256-549-8631/8643.
Spring Semester 2019 registration continues at Gadsden State
Priority online registration at Gadsden State Community College for spring semester continues through Jan. 11 with classes beginning Jan. 9 for full spring semester and spring mini I term. Visit www.gadsdenstate.edu and click on the link to “myGadsdenState” at the top of the page to begin the registration process or click “APPLY NOW” to be admitted. Veterans Upward Bound to host Open House, Tech Tuesday
Gadsden State’s Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program will host Open House events from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 9 at Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden and Jan. 15 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center in Anniston.
Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 22 at Beck Field House and the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center. The workshop is free to eligible military veterans and will offer assistance in learning to use the latest technology devices. Please RSVP to 256-549-8204 to register.

Gadsden State scholarships available
Gadsden State’s Division of Fine Arts has music scholarships available for the spring semester. Female and male vocal positions are available with the Show Band and GSCC Singers.
Instrumental positions for saxophone, trombone, trumpet and guitar may also be available with the Show Band. Deadline to audition is Jan. 11.
