Transfer

From President Kathy Murphy:

Gadsden State provides a strong foundation for future success whether you are aiming to complete your general education requirements, pursue a specific field of study or take advantage of our exceptional transfer programs. Many of our students choose to continue their education at a four-year university after they complete their studies at Gadsden State. When you are ready to transfer after graduation, you will be fully prepared for the next steps in your academic journey.

Gadsden State has established strong partnerships with Alabama’s colleges and universities, and we encourage our graduating students to continue their studies at one of these institutions.

Transferring to a university offers many opportunities to expand your knowledge, skills and experiences. It will provide you with access to a broad range of courses, specialized programs and a vibrant community of scholars. Moreover, earning a bachelor’s degree can enhance your career prospects, increase your earning potential and open doors to advanced studies or professional opportunities.

Gadsden State is committed to supporting our students through the transfer process. Our academic advisors and faculty will help you identify the best transfer options, navigate the application process and ensure that course credits are transferred seamlessly.

I urge students who are choosing to continue their education at a four-year university to take full advantage of the resources available to you at Gadsden State, including workshops, the Advising and Retention Center and one-on-one meetings with representatives from many of the state’s universities.

Your time at Gadsden State Community College is an opportunity to build academic confidence and skills that will drive your potential to excel in a university setting. As you embark on this exciting journey, know that Gadsden State is proud of your accomplishments, and we are grateful that you chose Gadsden State first.

Transfer Guide

Alabama Transfers is the state’s web-accessible articulation and transfer planning database. It is designed to inform students who attend Alabama community colleges about degree requirements, course equivalents and other transfer information pertaining to specific majors at each state-funded four-year institution.

Transfer Scholarships

There are many universities that offer scholarships specifically for students who plan to continue their education at a four-year institution after attending a community college. Awards are based on academic or technical achievements, participation in extracurricular and leadership activities or exhibited talents of the fine arts or athletics. If there is a college you are interested in but is not included on the Transfer Scholarships list, please email ARC@gadsdenstate.edu. Our advisers will be happy to assist in seeking scholarship opportunities for you.

Transfer of Credit

Make sure you understand the principles related to the transfer of credit earned from one institution to another institution.
