Gadsden State Student Art Exhibit opening May 2

Gadsden, Ala.—The opening reception for the 2019 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition will be from 5 to 7 p.m. May 2 in the Meadows Gallery on the Wallace Drive Campus.  The exhibit features artwork by Gadsden State students created during the 2018-2019 academic year, including digital photography, design, sculpture, paintings and traditional drawings. Admission is free and open to the public. Cardinal Foundation to host Swoop Sprint 5k

Gadsden, Ala. - The Cardinal Foundation, a support organization of Gadsden State, is hosting Swoop Sprint, a 5k run, at 9 a.m. June 8 on the Wallace Drive Campus. The Gadsden Runners Club is directing the GRC Grand Prix Series race and all monies collected will be used for student scholarships.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 overall male and female participants. Medals will be awarded to Top 3 in each age group. Age groupings are 0-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and older. The preregistration fee $25 with members of the Gadsden Runners Club, Anniston Runners Club and Gadsden State students, faculty or staff receiving a $5 discount.  An official race day t-shirt is guaranteed if registered by May 31.  Race day registration is $30 and is available from 7:30 to 8 a.m.; the race begins at 9 a.m.  To register, go to http://www.gadsdenstate.edu/foundation/home and find the Swoop Sprint 5k menu option.  For more information or to register contact Brandy Hyatt at 256-549-8247 or email swoopinfo@gadsdenrunners.com.

 

Gadsden State offers Drive Safe!

Gadsden, Ala.--Drivers Education courses will be offered this summer through the Continuing Education Department at Gadsden State.  All classes will meet from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Sessions will be held June 10-13 and June 24-27 at the Joe Ford Center on the East Broad Campus and June 17-20 and July 8-11 at Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre.  The registration fee is $175 per person and certificates will be awarded after completion of the course. EMS courses offered at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala.—Gadsden State’s Continuing Education Department is partnering with the Emergency Medical Services program to provide new training and refresher courses covering various health related topics including Heartsaver/AED CPR, first aid, ACLS, EKG recognition, EMT refresher, PALS and Paramedic refresher. The courses, which are available upon request, are open to individual community members, groups or organizations.
