HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
The Alabama Community College System is providing Alabama residents with a reimbursement grant for students completing a short-term credential program (credit or non-credit) from the following categories: Academic programs, Technical programs, Health Sciences and Skills Training. The eligible short-term credential program will lead to an in-demand career opportunity in our region. The program is selected from the ACCCP Occupations of Interest 2024-2025 from this region: Calhoun, Cherokee or Etowah County.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO COMPLETE FOR REIMBURSEMENT
- Must be an Alabama resident (Verified through Gadsden State enrollment process)
- Enrolled and accepted at Gadsden State Community College
- Be registered or intend to register in one of Gadsden State’s eligible short-term credential program that can be completed in TWO SEMESTERS
- Pay cost of the short-term credential program upfront
- Must submit the ACCS Short-Term Credential Scholarship Program Grant Application and receive approval* before the completion of the short-term program you are registered for.
- Submit Reimbursement Claim Form after program is complete
ACCS SHORT-TERM CREDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM GRANT GUIDELINES
WHAT DOES THE REIMBURSEMENT COVER WHEN I COMPLETE THE TWO SEMESTER SHORT-TERM CREDENTIAL PROGRAM?
Up to $4,500 reimbursement.
The following items are eligible for $4,500 reimbursement of expenses associated with enrollment and completion of a short-term credential program:
- Tuition
- Fees
- Books
- Credentialing test fees *Prerequisite program requirements such as background checks, drug tests, and immunizations are not allowable.
- Materials & supplies
HOW TO RECEIVE APPROVAL FOR THE SHORT-TERM CREDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION.

- Anticipated start and completion date of the eligible short-term credential program
- Industry recognized credential to be earned (depending of the eligible short-term credential program)
- Programs costs (Value calculated after acceptance, registration, and the student pays cost associated with the eligible short-term credential program at Gadsden State)
- Accept and understand the requirements for reimbursement

- Reimbursement Backup Documentation (Upload receipt of payment(s) for eligible expenses.)
