Gadsden, Ala.— The Gadsden State Student Government Association will host a meet and greet with Sen. Andrew Jones, R-Centre. The event will be at 2 p.m. March 4 at the Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden. Jones represents Alabama’s District 10, which includes Cherokee, DeKalb and Etowah counties. Gadsden/Anniston, Ala. - The Veterans Upward Bound program will host Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 12 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center and Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus. The workshop will offer assistance in learning to use the latest technology devices. A financial literacy workshop will be held at 11 a.m. March 19 at the Ayers Campus Learning Resource Center. The workshop will provide assistance in developing effective ways of budgeting, spending and taking control of finances. Both workshops are free to eligible military veterans. Gadsden, Ala. – The Gadsden State Alumni Association is offering $1,500 scholarships to two currently-enrolled Gadsden State students. The scholarships can be applied toward tuition, fees and books for the 2019-20 academic terms at Gadsden State. The scholarship criteria and application can be located at www.gadsdenstate.edu/alumni/home. All applications must be submitted or postmarked by 4:30 p.m. March 22. Gadsden, Ala. - Anyone interested in enrolling in Gadsden State’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program for Fall 2019 can choose to attend one of two mandatory informational meetings scheduled this spring. Please visit the DMS page on Gadsden State’s website at http://www.gadsdenstate.edu/health/diagnostic-medical-sonography and click the REGISTER NOW link to select one of the meetings to be held at 5:30 p.m. March 13 and 10 a.m. April 17 in Room 210 at the Joe Ford Center on the East Broad Campus. Upon completion of the program, students will receive an Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Gadsden, Ala. - The Gadsden State Music Department will hold an audition for Show Band, Gadsden State Singers and A Cappella Choir March 14. Full- or half-tuition scholarships for Fall Semester 2019 are available to Alabama residents and are awarded upon a successful audition. Students do not have to be music majors to be awarded a scholarship. Gadsden, Ala.- The Cardinal Foundation is accepting applications for several scholarships to provide tuition assistance to qualified Gadsden State students. The scholarships may be applied toward tuition, fees and books for the 2019-2020 academic terms. Gadsden, Ala.- Gadsden State’s Continuing Education Department is offering the workshop “Let’s Put the FUN in Funeral Planning” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 in Room 115 at the Joe Ford Center on the East Broad Campus. This is a general knowledge session that will include information on wills and planning, final disposition options, appropriate insurance plan coverage, funeral personalization and funeral home visits to view caskets, urns and vaults.
