November Education Briefs from Gadsden State

Gadsden State Cherokee Food Drive runs through Nov. 30

Centre, Ala.—The faculty, staff and students of Gadsden State Cherokee are sponsoring their annual Food Drive during the month of November to benefit Cherokee Family Care Center.  Food items needed include canned meats, instant potatoes, dry beans, peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, Ramen noodles, rice, canned vegetables, canned pumpkin, chili, soups and stew. Spring Semester 2022 registration underway at Gadsden State 

Gadsden, Ala.-- Registration at Gadsden State Community College for spring semester is underway through Jan. 13, 2022.  Classes begin Jan. 7 for the full spring semester and Mini 1 term.   Visit gadsdenstate.edu and click on “OneACCS” at the top of the page to begin the registration process. To be admitted, go to gadsdenstate.edu/apply.  For more information regarding admission or registration, email admissions@gadsdenstate.edu.


TRIO for Success Club hosts Sixth Annual Rummage Sale

Gadsden, Ala.--The TRIO for Success Club at Gadsden State Community College is sponsoring its Annual Rummage Sale for students and community members. The event will feature clothing, books, toys, puzzles, household items and more.   Students can attend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 17 -18 to shop and fill up a bag for a cash only purchase of $5 with their Gadsden State student ID.  Both students and community members are invited to attend from 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 19. The events will be at Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive Campus. Gadsden State to host Cardinal Days

Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College is hosting Cardinal Days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 16, 17 and 30 as well as Dec. 1, 14 and 15. Evening advisement will be available from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 16 and Dec. 15.  Current students and potential students will receive face-to-face assistance through the advising and registration process. Cardinal Days will take place in the multipurpose room at the One Stop Center on the East Broad Campus, in the auditorium at the Learning Resource Center on the Ayers Campus and in the Library at Gadsden State Cherokee. Massage Therapy Clinics offered at Gadsden State   

Gadsden, Ala.-- Gadsden State Community College’s Massage Therapy Program  is offering student clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays for faculty, staff, students and the community in Prater Hall, Room 200 on the Valley Street Campus.  Massage therapy appointment times are 9 to 10 a.m., 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m.  The cost is $25 an hour. Call 256-549-8326 in advance to schedule an appointment or leave a message with contact information so that appointments can be confirmed. Gift certificates for hourly massages are also available. Book the Gadsden State Choir for Christmas events

Gadsden, Ala.--The Gadsden State A Cappella Choir and Singers have open dates available for holiday parties, programs or services.  This talented group of singers under the direction of J.T. Harrell perform at many community events and churches during its annual Christmas Tour which kicks off this month. Gadsden State offering ACT Prep courses

Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Program is offering ACT Prep Courses covering four core subjects – English, reading, math and science from 5 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6-9 with a different core subject taught each evening. Classes will meet at the Cardinal Tutoring Center located in the Inzer Student Engagement Center on the Wallace Drive Campus.  Students can register for the session of their choice. Registration cost is $99 for all four hours of instruction or $30 per evening class.  Once a student registers, a confirmation email will be sent containing instructions and items needed for the class. EMS Continuing Ed courses offered at Gadsden State

Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Department is partnering
