Women’s Club of Weiss Lake scholarship opportunity

Centre, Ala. — The Women’s Club of Weiss Lake is offering a $1,500 scholarship to a qualifying female student at Gadsden State Community College student. The scholarship will be awarded to the college and may be used toward the cost of tuition, books, fees or any expense charged to the student by the college.

Female students who wish to apply for the scholarship must be residents of Cherokee County, maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Scholarship applications are available at the Business Office at Gadsden State Cherokee.  Deadline to submit the application is June 1.   For more information contact Luanne Hayes at 256-927-1805 or email lhayes@gadsdenstate.edu.

About the Women’s Club of Weiss Lake:  The Women’s Club of Weiss Lake is a community service organization which serves the residents of Cherokee County and its aim is to enhance the quality of life in the community.  The club members include residents from throughout the county many of whom are semi-retired professionals.  In addition to funding the Gadsden State Cherokee scholarship, the organization donates to area food banks, provides in-service training for workshops on ADHD, and sponsors free community educational programs.
