Gadsden State A Cappella Choir announces its Christmas tour
The Gadsden State Community College A Cappella Choir will be singing at many community events and churches during its annual Christmas Tour. The singers will kick-off the tour at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Alabama Education Association meeting in Montgomery.
The tour includes the group’s 20th consecutive year to perform at the Annual Tree Lighting at Regency Point. The performance will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6. The highlight of the tour is the Community Christmas Concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at First United Methodist of Gadsden. It is free and open to the public. The group is under the direction of J.T. Harrell.

Dec. 2 – 5:30 p.m. First Friday in Downtown Gadsden
Dec. 4 – 6 p.m. North Gadsden Baptist Church
Dec. 6 – 11 a.m. Belleview Baptist Senior Adult Luncheon
Dec. 8 – Noon, Gadsden Rotary Club
Dec. 11 – 6 p.m. First United Methodist Church of Rainbow City
Dec. 12 – 6:30 p.m. GSCC Show Band & Choir Christmas Showcase
Dec. 16 – 11 a.m. Life Insurance of Alabama Christmas Party
Dec. 16 – 1 p.m. CED Mental Health Employee Christmas Party
The group consists of 21 students who study voice in addition to their various collegiate majors. The singers include Angel Vega of Albertville; William Eaton of Anniston; Saibri Ross of Birmingham; Katherine Hodges, Edie McKibben, Madison Nelson, Aaliyah Palka, Isabella Swatek and Evan Tigue, all of Gadsden; Matthew McClendon of Gallant; Layla Abernathy of Glencoe; Rebekah Smith of Hokes Bluff; Isaiah Moore of Oneonta; Blakely Burgdoerfer of Oxford; Emma Beasley, Benjamin Copeland, Sydney Day, Harrison Hood and Ashley Pentecost, all of Southside; and Charles Lewis and Emma Smith, both of Springville.
