Gadsden State hosts student success workshops

Gadsden, Ala. -- Gadsden State Community College is hosting free student success events entitled “Spring into Health:  Whole Person Health Fair.”  The first event will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 28 on the second floor of Learning Resource Center on the Ayers Campus. A second health fair will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 1 in the Allen Hall lounge on the Wallace Drive Campus.

“It is our mission to provide the tools our students need to have a successful academic career,” said Dr. Dana Davis, director of Advising at Gadsden State. “Whole person health involves looking at the whole person—not just separate organs or body systems—and considering multiple factors that promote either health or disease. This fair is designed to promote physical and mental wellness by empowering our students to improve their health in multiple interconnected areas.”

Students will be able to visit with multiple vendors from various agencies and receive information concerning access to services provided as well as information related to all aspects of health care and well-being. The health fairs are sponsored by the Advisement Resource Center and Student Support Services. For information contact arc@gadsdenstate.edu or 256-549-8271.
