Cardinal Giving Days to raise funds for important Gadsden State projects

Gadsden, Ala. — The Gadsden State Community College Cardinal Foundation is kicking off its first online fundraising campaign. Beginning April 12 and concluding April 14, Cardinal Giving Days gives Gadsden State supporters the opportunity to donate to four important projects.

“There are vast needs at our College but we pinpointed four projects that would positively impact the collegiate experience for most of our students,” said John Roberson, director of Advancement and Alumni Relations. “This is an opportunity for our supporters to give back to a community college that has made a difference in so many lives.”

Emails introducing Cardinal Giving Days were sent today to over 60,000 people in Gadsden State’s service area, which includes Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne and Etowah counties. Though the fundraising campaign does not technically kick off until April 12, early contributions will be accepted beginning today.

“We have a goal of raising $10,000 for each project,” Roberson said. “We can accept one-time or recurring donations. No amount is too small and all are appreciated.”

Three additional emails will be sent during Cardinal Giving Days detailing the four projects for which funds are being solicited:

  • Equipment for the newly-reinstated Gadsden State baseball and softball teams
  • Emergency funds to help students remove barriers that prevent them from completing their college education
  • Instruments for students as well as a trailer for the Gadsden State Show Band that will allow them to participate in public events and parades
  • Furniture for the Ayers Campus Student Center
