Gadsden State to signal partnership with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation with signing event
Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State Community College’s Athletic Department is partnering with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, a non-profit organization that connects children battling pediatric brain tumors with college and high school sports teams.
Gadsden State Athletics will signal the “adoption” of two families during a special signing event at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the Beck Gymnasium on the Wallace Drive Campus.
Through the adoption, Gadsden State Athletics will organize special events, activities and experiences for the adopted families, allowing them to become an integral part of the College’s athletic community. The goal is to create a support system that extends beyond the conventional boundaries of a sports team, providing comfort and encouragement to the children and their families.
The public and media are invited to attend. Blake Lewis, athletic director; Denis Murphy, founder/director of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation; and members of the “adopted” families will be available for interviews.
