Gadsden State extends scholarship program to summer semester
Gadsden, Ala. — For the third straight semester, Gadsden State Community College is extending its Buy One Get One Free Scholarship program. Members of the Chambers of Commerce in Calhoun, Cherokee and Etowah counties can now use the scholarship for the summer semester.
“This program is certainly making an impact on the lives of those in our community wanting to earn a college credential,” said Andy Green, dean of Student Services. “Gadsden State is making an investment in our students; an investment that can create a ripple effect that benefits countless others.”
In July, signing events were held with the area Chambers to solidify the partnership that provides a free course for each paid course at Gadsden State for the 2023 Fall Semester. It was expanded in October to include the 2024 Spring Semester and now the 2024 Summer Semester, which starts May 29. Registration opens March 14.
“This scholarship program has provided Gadsden State with a number of new students,” Green said. “Students who never attended Gadsden State before registered for classes. We had many students enroll for two consecutive semesters. We invite them to attend during the summer semester, too.”
