Gadsden State Cherokee student receives Civitan Club scholarship
Centre, Ala. – Olivia Tucker of Cedar Bluff is the recipient of the Cherokee County Civitan Club Scholarship for 2021-22. Tucker, a second-year student majoring in Psychology, was recently honored at the club meeting with the $1,000 scholarship and a certificate. The scholarship may be used toward the cost of tuition, books, fees or other expenses charged to the student by the College.
“Gadsden State Cherokee is proud to partner with the Cherokee County Civitan Club which serves locally as part of an international organization of clubs dedicated to serving individual and community needs with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities,” said Luanne Hayes, campus director at Gadsden State Cherokee.
“We are appreciative of Pam Clough, ADA Compliance/Continuing Education coordinator at Gadsden State, who was instrumental in assisting with the scholarship process and student selection,” said Kathy Marko, club president. “We know that Olivia will do well at Gadsden State, and she has the support of all of the club members.”
